Stay a Little Longer

As Moses went into the tent, the pillar of cloud would come down and stay at the entrance, while the Lord spoke with Moses. Whenever the people saw the pillar of cloud standing at the entrance to the tent, they all stood and worshipped, each at the entrance to his tent. The Lord would speak to Moses face to face, as a man speaks with his friend. Then Moses would return to the camp, but his young aide Joshua son of Nun did not leave the tent. Exodus 33:9-11

“But avoid foolish and ignorant disputes, knowing that they generate strife. And a servant of the Lord must not quarrel but be gentle to all, able to teach, patient, in humility correcting those who are in opposition,….”. 2 Timothy 2:23-25

Remain Teachable

He who hardens his neck and refuses instruction after being often reproved (corrected, criticized), will suddenly be broken beyond repair. Proverbs 29:1 (Amplified Bible)

The NIV says whoever remains stiff-necked. Stiff-necked, hardens his neck means not willing to accept the yoke. Imagine livestock that are not willing to be harnessed, not willing to take the yoke. Ever try to bridle a horse who is unwilling or stubborn- or try to put a halter on a young horse who is afraid?

He Wants to Move In

Then have them make a sanctuary for Me, and I will dwell among them. Exodus 25:8 (NIV)

God had delivered His people from the bondage of slavery in Egypt. They saw God do amazing miracles to deliver and set them free. Moses led them to Mt. Sinai to worship God. God told the people in Exodus 19:4, you yourselves have seen what I did to Egypt, and how I carried you on eagles’ wings and bought you to Myself.

Lead with Your Ears

Understand this, my beloved brothers and sisters. Let everyone be quick to hear [be a careful, thoughtful listener], slow to speak [a speaker of carefully chosen words and], slow to anger [patient, reflective, forgiving]; for the [resentful, deep-seated] anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God [that standard of behavior which He requires from us]. James 1:19,20 The Amplified Bible I had to remind myself of this verse this morning. Because I am angry. Life happens – situations and circumstances happen that make us angry. I was not slow to anger – I hit angry in about 6.2 seconds.

It Only Takes One

Moses answered the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” Exodus 14:13-14

After all, his message of grace was challenging both to the Jews and the Gentiles. For the Jews it was downright blasphemous.
