Showers Named to Honor Roll

CEDARVILLE, OH (06/22/2020)– Cedarville University student Sage Showers of Hammon, OK, majoring in Political Science, was named to the Dean’s Honor List for Spring 2020. This recognition required Showers to maintain a 3.75 GPA and carry a minimum of 12 credit hours.

Hammon School Announces Honor Students

High School Principal Mike Higgins has announced that Hammon High School has named three Senior Class Valedictorians and one Salutatorian for the 2020 school year. Delaynie Peters, Ethan Torrance, and Jaylynn Lamb are this year’s Valedictorian and Laurian Sorensen is this year’s Salutatorian.

The students will be recognized at the Junior High Promotion Exercises on Friday, May 8, 2020, in the School Parking Lot at 5:00 P.M. The Eighth- Grade class has three Valedictorians— Shannon Ayers, Kate Grabeal, and Gracie Askew.

2020 Hammon Warrior Seniors

Cade Allen is the son of Rex and Terri Allen.
Cade has been on the Superintendent’s and
Principal’s Honor Rolls, ran Cross Country in
high school, was on the State Academic Championship
team, and is a proud member of the
Warrior baseball and basketball teams. Cade
has won a lot of awards in his sports career.
He was on the Warrior Classis All Tournament
Team in 2018 and the Warrior Classic MVP in
2019 and 2020. He was on the Bi-County All
Tournament Team in 2018 and the B-County
MVP in 2019 and 2020. Cade was on the Five
County All Conference team in 2018 and he was
the Five County All Conference Tournament
MVP in 2018, 2019, and 2020. Cade’s favorite
memory was making it to the Semi-Finals of the
State Tournament this year as a senior. Because
of his outstanding talent, Cade was recognized
on The Oklahoman’s Class B All-State first team
list for 2019-2020 and he was named as the
OBCA District 4 All-Star Team. Cade loves to
hunt and fish and he has signed to play basketball
at Oklahoma Christian University. Cade is
pursuing a degree in Business Accounting and
hopes to obtain a job in the wind farm industry
after he finishes college.

Jaylynn Lamb Wins State Superintendents Award for Arts Excellence

Congratulations to senior Jaylynn Lamb on being named a winner of the 2020 State Superintendent Awards for Arts Excellence in Drama/Theatre. Jaylynn and her Speech Coach, Brenda Archer, were notified last week that Jaylynn was chosen from a very select group of students from across the state of Oklahoma for this coveted award. There were only 26 students chosen to represent Oklahoma schools in the area of Drama/Theatre.

Hammon Warriors Clench Area Consolation & Head to State!

The Hammon Warriors took the long way, playing three games in a row, but made it to the Class B State Basketball Tournament.
The first two games of the Area Tournament went easily the Warriors way. The first game they defeated Kinta 71-46 and then Midway 75-49.
