Abbie Barton hit all three of her shots in the first quarter but the other Lady Bears were unable to connect and Seiling led 13-8 after one. In the second, the Lady Bears ramped up the defense and offensive rebounding and outscored the Lady Cats 12-4 to take a 20-14 lead into the half. The third quarter was all C/R as they outscored Seiling 16-4 to put the game away. The 4th quarter was much the same as the lead grew to 21 at the final buzzer and the Lady Bears won 46-25. Y’Leigh Yarbrough led all scorers with 12 points while Jaidyn Greer just missed a double/double with 9 points and 10 rebounds. Alie Parkhurst grabbed 11 rebounds to go along with her 5 steals.
The Lady Bears went to Arapaho Friday night and left with a tough 43-31 win over the host Lady Indians. C/R led 14 -9 after one, as Chloe McEntire, Abbie Barton and Alie Parkhurst all scored 4 points in the quarter.
The Lady Bears rebounded from a tough Friday night loss to #2 Canute to defeat #8 Shattuck by a score of 50-43 Tuesday night. Alie Parkhurst hit 7 first quarter points and C/R led 11-6 after one. Y’Leigh Yarbrough then stepped up and made 6 of her 9 points in the second quarter as the lady Bears led 20-17 at the break. Hayley Whiteneck joined the scoring party in the third as she scored 6 of her 10 points in the period and the Lady Bears led by 10 heading into the 4th.
The Lady Bears opened the Bi County tournament with solid win over Sweetwater by a score of 63-26. Alie Parkhurst scored a new career high of 25 points as she went 11-12 from the field, to go along with 9 steals to lead the way, Y’Leigh Yarbrough joined her in double figures with 13 and the Lady Bears led wire to wire for the win. It was over early as C/R jumped to a 17-3 lead and they steadily increased it throughout the game. Hayley Whiteneck dished out 4 assists while point guard Chloe McEntire grabbed 5 rebounds.
The Lady Bears took #2 ranked Canute to the very end before falling by a score of 53-47. The first half was back and forth as Abbie Barton hit 8 of her 12 points and Canute led 26-25 at the break. The Lady Bears were sloppy in the first three minutes of the 3rd quarter and committed 7 turnovers, and the Trojanettes opened an 11-point lead midway through the stanza.
