Governor Dewey Bartlett was in Cheyenne Friday for a visit with civic leaders concerning industrial development. His plane, piloted by a member of the highway patrol, came in from Oklahoma City, circled from the north and settled down for a perfect landing at the local airport. On hand to greet the Governor was Eugene Savage, Chamber Secretary, Baxter Purcell, Elmer Rook & Russell Dobson. After meeting with members of the community, they had lunch at Hill’s Café. Mr. Elmer Rook took the Governor out to Custer’s Battlefield and gave him a brief tour of Cheyenne. Open House Sunday, October 12th for the Golden Wedding Anniversary honoring Mr. & Mrs. Carl Olson of Grimes, in the Grimes Community Building from 2:20-4:00. The Cheyenne Senior Class is presenting its annual play, Hillbilly Wedding, a three-act comedy in the high school auditorium. A group of men pooled their labor, working Hoot Stickley, Alex Inman and Him Brown’s cattle in a short period of time. The thirteen ranchers were Jim Brown, Clarence Redden, Willie Springer, Charles Frye, Charles Hosetein, Charles Batchelor, Bud Hickey, Alex Inman, Rex Sadler, Junior Tice, Hoot Stickley, Tom Link, Gerald Brown and a cattle buyer from Oklahoma City, Bob Jessup.
