Keep Pets Restrained or Get a Ticket

At the board meeting on September 12, 2019 the city council discussed the ongoing issues with animals at large. Unrestrained animals are creating safety issues for citizens to enjoy our park, streets, and sometimes even their own front porch. According to the definitions under Section 3-1 of the Code Of Ordinances for the Town of Cheyenne, an animal is at large if it is not under restraint. Restraint is defined as “an animal shall be deemed to be under constraint if confined, by fence or by other means, on the premises of its owner, if on a leash six (6) feet in length and accompanied by a responsible person over twelve (12) years old, or in the case of a hunting dog, if accompanied by its owner engaged in the act of hunting.”
