50 Years Ago – 1972 Old Settlers Reunion

The 1972 Old Timers Reunion in Cheyenne was under the general management of C.W. “Spec” Lester, president of the Old Timers Reunion Association of the Cheyenne and Arapaho Country. The reunion was attended by 20,000 people according to the Daily Oklahoman. “The old west is still living – ripping and snorting – at the Old Settlers Reunion,” started a feature article in Sunday’s Oklahoman relative to the Old Settlers Reunion held in Cheyenne, Saturday, April 22. On this date, Cheyenne celebrated with the greatest event in its 80-year history. There were people present from many states to enjoy the festivities…
