60 Years Ago – 1962 Old Settlers Reunion

The Reunion of Old Timers in Cheyenne, April 19, 1962 featured a gorgeous parade. In it were a prairie schooner drawn by oxen, an exact reproduction of the first log structure built in Oklahoma, the old Choteau Trading Post built at Salina in 1796; 1,000 horses, bands, floats of many descriptions. There were more than 1,200 people in this parade. The attendance was estimated at between 15,000 and 20,000.
