Bo Whipkey 1991 ~ 2021

Bo Whipkey, born to his parents as Bryan Oscar Whipkey, was born October 24, 1991 in Sayre, Oklahoma to Patricia Lynn (Haider) and Brian Oscar Whipkey. He passed away Thursday, August 26th, 2021 at Strong City, Oklahoma at the age of 29 years, 10 months and 2 days.

Bo grew up Strong City where he was home schooled by his parents graduating in 2010. It was during this time, at the age of 10 he began shooting trap in 4-H and later under the American Trap Association. Over the years he excelled by winning many trophies and awards. He continued shooting until he was 17 years old. Bo began working at a young age and found employment with Gary and Jeanette Scott working with greyhounds. It was during this time that he came to meet (Dime) and it was an immediate connection between he and his dog. You would never at any time see Bo without Dime beside him. Bo was a self-taught guitarist and could play almost any song upon demand and he played in the band Black Kettle Society. At the age of 18 he began working for R & R Pipeline as a field hand and continued until his car accident at the age 20. Through his accident he met Ann Lushbough and their relationship continued to grow throughout the years. He also enjoyed amazon shopping for concert shirts, shooting trap, fishing, tying fishing fly’s with uncle Nick, hunting with his dad and uncle Wayne, trapping, shed hunting, anything in the outdoors, playing guitar and spending time with his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Janet and Martin Haider and Shirley Whipkey; three uncles, Vince Whipkey, Wayne Carter and Dave LaCombe.

Bo is survived by his parents, Brian and Trish Whipkey, of the home; three sisters, Lahressa Perigo and husband, “Smokey”, Vanessa Whipkey and Portia Whipkey; two brothers, Dalton Whipkey and, Monica and Jonathon “JB” Whipkey and Michelle; grandfather, Boyd Whipkey; aunts and uncles, Kerry and Robyn Whipkey, Connye LaCombe, Tim Whipkey, Janice and Nick Szabo, Jackie Spencer, Marty Haider, Sandi and Chris Davis, Sharon “Tam Tam” Carter, Tonya and Mark Roark, Rose and Clint Bailey, “Paco” and Carol Carter, Levi and Angela Carter and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Memorial donations can be made to the family in Bo’s name at Security State Bank in Cheyenne, Oklahoma. The family asks that all those in attendance of the service, if possible, wear a band or concert shirt. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 3, 2021 at 2:30 P.M. at the Cheyenne United Methodist Church officiated by Alex Costea. Burial will follow at Strong City Cemetery under the direction of Chris Whinery and the staff of Affordable Cremation Service- West. Condolences can be made online at www. classicfunerals.com.
