Bobby Eugene Putman 1974 ~ 2021

Bobby Eugene Putman was born March 8th, 1974 in Sayre, Oklahoma to Barbara Ann (White) and Bobby Nile Putman. He passed away Thursday, September 16th, 2021 at Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 47 years, 6 months and 8 days.

Gene grew up in the Sayre and Reydon communities. At the age of 12 he moved with his family to Neosho, Missouri where he attended high school graduating in 1992. After graduation he entered the United States Navy on November 23rd, 1992. He was stationed in Norfolk, Virginia and also had one tour during the Persian Gulf war as a hull tech. It was during this time his first two children were born, Brittany and Tyler. After his honorable discharge on September 1st, 1996 he returned to Diamond, Missouri where he began career in law enforcement with the Joplin, Missouri Police Department. He moved to Reydon, Oklahoma where he, along with Rob Brott, started working in the oil field working his way up the latter. He met and later married Jessica (Osben) on September 20, 2007 at Sayre, Oklahoma. Gene added to his family with Hailey and Evan. They made their home in Elk City where Gene enjoyed playing golf23, hunting, fishing, listening to music and hanging out at the Dempsey Circle but his passion in life was spending time with his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his father, James Thomas Howard, Jr.; his maternal and paternal grandparents and a nephew, James Thomas Howard, IV.

Gene is survived by his wife, Jessica, of the home; 4 children, Brittany Putman and husband, Lane Erwin, Wheeler, TX, Tyler Putman and wife, Sydnee, Webb City, MO, Hailey Putman, Elk City, OK and Evan Putman, of the home; 3 grandchildren, Emma Dawn Erwin, Elijah Eugene Putman and Corbin Dwight Erwin; his mother, Bobbie Howard, Elk City, OK; father, Bobby Putman, Amarillo, TX; 3 sisters, Angel Fults and husband, Mitch, Cheyenne, OK, Tricia Fishburn and husband, Kenny, Ada, OK and Melody Pennington and husband, Perry, Dempsey, OK; 1 brother, James T. Howard III, Reydon, OK and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 23rd, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. at the Trinity Fellowship officiated by Jason Wilhelm and Andy Taylor.
