
Bobby Lee “Bob” Conway, 74, of Amarillo, passed away on Saturday, July 8, 2023.
Bob was born June 17, 1949 in Sayre, Oklahoma to Clarence and Betty Conway. He graduated from Cheyenne High School. He married the love of his life, Venita Matthews on September 3, 1971 in Durham, Oklahoma and they had one child. Bob worked for Santa Fe Railroad, later BNSF, retiring in 2009 after 41 years of service. Bob’s career took him and Venita many places throughout their marriage. In his spare time, Bob enjoyed woodworking and remodeling. He was an avid OU football fan. His favorite hobby was watching the Discovery channel with his special grandfloof Allie. After his retirement, he built a quilt shop for Venita behind their home. They enjoyed traveling, including a trip up the Pacific coast and an Alaskan cruise. Bob liked gardening and canning foods. After 51 years of marriage, Venita passed away just 18 days before Bob; they are now together again.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Venita Conway; and a brother, Gene Conway. Survivors include Hayden Eagleston and fiancée Shae of Oklahoma City, OK; two brothers, Richard Conway and Thomas Conway and wife Janice all of Oklahoma; his special niece, Tosha Estrada; three grandchildren, Levi, Maya, and Jeremy; and four great-grandchildren, Jude, Jacobie, Piper and Lennox.
Graveside services will be held Sunday, September 3, 2023, 2:00 pm at Silent Home Cemetery in Crawford.
