Bobby S. Carter 1942 ~ 2021

Bobby S. Carter, 79, of Hammon, Oklahoma was born on March 6, 1942 in Moorewood, Oklahoma. He is the son of Ewing and Elsie Irene (Gray) Carter. He went to walk the golden streets of heaven on Thursday, December 23, 2021 at Homestead Assisted Living, Elk City, Oklahoma surrounded by his loving family.

He graduated from Hammon High School, Class of 1960. Bobby married, Mary John Flick, whom he considered the love of his life on June 23, 1962 in Hammon, Oklahoma.

Bobby coached and taught at Tyrone Public Schools for three years, he then coached at Okarche Public Schools for fifteen years. During those fifteen years his boys basketball team in 1978 was State Runner-Up and in 1979 they won the State Championship. He then coached at Cheyenne Public Schools for ten years, Corn Bible Academy for two years. He retired in 1999. Bobby loved to watch sports, his grandchildren and their activities. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hammon, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at First Baptist Church, Hammon, Oklahoma. Rev. Scott Showers will officiate, Rev. David Flick will assist. Interment will be at Red Hill Cemetery, Hammon, Oklahoma. Services have been entrusted to the care of Richard and Tammy Dugger and the staff of Martin-Dugger Funeral Home in Elk City, Oklahoma.

Cherishing his memory is his loving wife of fifty-nine years, Mary John Carter of the home; two sons, John David Carter and his wife, Marcia Carter of Claremore, Oklahoma, Jesse Dean Carter and his wife, Wendi Carter of Okarche, Oklahoma; one daughter, Joy Dyan Harrison and her husband, Kevin of Perryton, Texas; nine grandchildren, Kelin Harrison, Keeley Dewitt and her husband, Austin, Kaydee Harrison all of Perryton, Texas; Kayla Wells and her husband, Eric of Claremore, Oklahoma, Jesse Carter and his wife, Parker of Verdigris, Oklahoma, Jason Carter of Claremore, Oklahoma, Felipe Zanolli of Dallas, Texas, Wyatt Carter and his wife, Kimberly of Piedmont, Oklahoma, Weston Carter and his wife, Allie of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; eight great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ewing and Elsie Carter; his sister, Wanda June Carter.
