Charlotte Bell Tice Gregory was born July 18, 1938, in San Jose California to Leonard and Mattie Tice. Charlotte Passed away in her home in Reydon, Oklahoma, August 14, 2022, at the age of 84 years after her battle with cancer.
Charlotte was born in California but moved with her parents back to western Oklahoma when she was eight years old. She briefly attended school in Reydon but spent most of her school years at Durham. She met and married her first husband Robert Barton in 1954, and at the age of 15 she started her own family; they had three children together. She started her artist journey while her husband was at war. She has many successful pieces of art that have been displayed in museums. Charlotte moved to Wyoming with her second husband Bob Trent and two daughters to chase and tame wild horses while continuing to make her art masterpieces. Charlotte moved back to Oklahoma and met her third husband Harold Rhodes of Watonga where she had many luxuries and rode across the country on the back of a Honda Goldwing and started her new career at Hollytex Spinning Mill where she worked for 15 years. After his death she adopted her three granddaughters and started attending the Assembly of God Church in Watonga where she met her fourth and final husband Arthur Gregory. They then moved back to Reydon, Oklahoma, to raise dogs and to be close to her family.
Charlotte enjoyed painting, making beautiful jewelry, tending to her many plants, reading her Bible and spending time with her family. She loved her kids, grandkids, great grandkids, George the bird, her dog Playboy, and Matt Dillon.
Charlotte is preceded in death by her parents, all four husbands: Robert, Bob, Harold, and Arthur; two sons: Robert Eugene Barton II, David Lynn Barton; one infant daughter: Eugenia Renee Barton and one brotherin- law: Buddy Earle.
She is survived by two sisters: Janice Norris and husband Warren of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Glenda Earle of Tulsa, Oklahoma; six daughters: Lana Standsoverbull and husband Jonathon of Montana, Diana Keys and husband Toby of Reydon, Oklahoma, Heather Turner of Reydon Oklahoma, Jessica Wear and husband Austin of Reydon Oklahoma; Montana Trent and dog Frex of Elk City Oklahoma; Mercedes Six and husband Johnathan of Allison Texas, twelve grandchildren: Chris, Sarah, Michael, Zackary, Dena, Haley, Kasey, Zannon, Joah, Malia, Sampson, and Hunter; twenty-one great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Services were held Thursday, August 18, 2022, 11:00am at the Reydon Community Center. Condolences can be made to the family at whineryfs.com.
