Cheyenne 100 Years Ago

Last Sunday night about ten o’clock a fire was discovered in the top of a stack of baled hay nearJ.M. Lester’s barn north of this city. The hay was covered with wagon sheets to protect it from theweather. The fire was first discovered near the middle of the stack on top. Internal combustion isthe only cause attributed to the mysterious conflagration. The hay was baled green and it isthought by Mr. Lester that on account of the extreme hot weather and the greenness of the hay thatis simply caught fire from the heat of the stack.There will be a farmers…
