Cheyenne 50 Years Ago

Governor Dewey Bartlett was in Cheyenne Friday for a visit with civic leaders concerning industrial development. His plane, piloted by a member of the highway patrol, came in from Oklahoma City, circled from the north and settled down for a perfect landing at the local airport. On hand to greet the Governor was Eugene Savage, Chamber Secretary, Baxter Purcell, Elmer Rook & Russell Dobson. After meeting with members of the community, they had lunch at Hill’s Café. Mr. Elmer Rook took the Governor out to Custer’s Battlefield and gave him a brief tour of Cheyenne. Open House Sunday, October 12th…
