Melvin Summers was elected a member of the Cheyenne Board of Education having received 41 votes. Billy Harrison received 17 votes. Many people hope for a white Christmas, but no one expects a white Easter. But Easter found the ground covered with the soft fleecy white stuff called snow, throughout Oklahoma and bordering states. The snow fell for twelve to fourteen hours, accumulating from 4 to 6 inches. The snow was followed by a drizzling rain providing much needed moisture.
