Cheyenne 50 Years Ago

The Special Election held in Cheyenne last week to decide whether or not the city would have a one cent sales tax resulted in a tie. 240 votes were cast for the tax and 240 against the tax. According to the State Election Board this has the effect of defeating the measure. The law states that a measure has to have a majority of the votes to become law.
