Cheyenne 50 Years Ago

Kathy Holley is the 1974 Champion Roger Mills County Speller. As champion she will represent this county in the Regional Spelling Bee in Amarillo, Texas. Kathy is the 13-year-old daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Kenneth Holley. She in in the 7th grade. Other contestants in the senior bee, grades 7 and 8 were Dick Bernitz, Cheyenne; Jan Porter and Anita Bonsor, Reydon and Terry Montgomery and James Goin, Crawford. Winner in the Junior Spelling Bee is Susan Sadler, a 6th graders from Reydon. Other entries in were Liza Hyman, Crawford; Charlotte Thurman, Reydon and Gay Moore and Floyd Wingo, Cheyenne.…
