Cheyenne 50 Years Ago

Bennie Whitecrane, Hammon, was charged with manslaughter in the first degree at his arraignment in District Court in Cheyenne Tuesday. Bond for Whitecrane who is being held in the Roger Mills County Jail was set at $7,000. The charge came as a result of the death of Mary Louise Whiteshield of Weatherford. Mrs. Whiteshiled, according to authentic reports, was killed in a one-car mishap on a county road west of Hammon Saturday morning. She was killed when a 1962 Ford Station Wagon, driven by Benny Whitecrane, Hammon, backed over her. She was reportedly kneeling behind the automobile when Whitecrance decided…
