Cheyenne 50 Years Ago

Five members of the Roger Mills County Chapters of 4-H have had steers nominated for entry in the 1971 Junior Steer Show of the Tulsa State Fair. They are Charla McCoy, Dennis McCoy, Mike Grant, Nicky Smith and Janice Smith. Two-hundred-twenty persons registered at the Annual Old Day County Picnic held at Grand on Sunday, June 18th. A group of forty made the trail ride from Camargo along with three mule-drawn covered wagons owned by C.W. Lester and Pete Lucas. Jack Scroggins, who has operated the Scroggins and Son Funeral Home in Cheyenne since 1959, has been employed as instructor…
