Cheyenne, Oklahoma Center of Old West By Dale Tracy

While musing about the upcoming Draggin’ Main event and the progress of the restoration of the Rook Theater, I thought about some of the movies my friends and I used to watch at THE ROOK in the 1950s. These old movies depicted all manner of Old West events. Some of these that I recall were wagon trains headed west, Indian raids on those wagon trains and the US Cavalry arriving just in time to save the day. There were stage holdups, bank robberies, train robberies, bar room fights, street shootings, murders and unsolved mysteries, killing of frontier lawmen, hangings, cattle…
