On Sunday, October 27 Southwestern Oklahoma State University held its 4th Annual Flute Day. Flute Players from schools all around western Oklahoma joined together for the event. Participants had the opportunity to participate in flute choirs, learn new extended flute techniques such as beatboxing, listen to a recital by master flutist George Pope, work on music for honor band auditions with college instructors, and participate in a concert of all flute players!

Flute ensemble composer Nicole Chamberlin conducted some of her own works for the Breanna Stubbs, Destiny Green & Kady Szabo concert, so players got to learn directly from her how she wanted her pieces performed! It was a memorable experience for all involved. Cheyenne Bear Band members who joined in the fun were Breanna Stubbs, Kady Szabo, and Destiny Green and Bear Band Director Marci Kitchens
