Clara “Frances” Mc- Clellan Butler was born on July 23, 1946 at Shattuck, Oklahoma to Dessie Della (Griffey) and Lafayette Mc- Clellan. She passed away Tuesday, September 8th, 2020 at the age of 74 years, 1 month and 16 days. Frances grew up in Roll, Oklahoma and Albuquerque, New Mexico. At the age of 16 she was married to Orville Harris and they made their home in Leedey, Oklahoma. To this union they had 3 children: Dee, Rodena and Lori. Together they raised their children and owned and operated a dairy along with farming and ranching for 36 years.
After Orville passed away in April of 2000, Frances married Don Butler in 2002 and they resided in the Leedey community, worked at the Cheyenne nursing home and traveled. In March of 2016 when Don passed away, Frances continued to live in Leedey until December of 2019 when she moved in with her sister, Donna. Frances enjoyed embroidery and baking cakes for her family’s special birthdays.
She is preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Orville Harris; son, Orville “Dee” Harris, Jr.; her second husband, Don Butler; brother, Dale McClellan and one sister, Geneva Dixon.
Frances is survived by 2 children, Rodena Kephart and husband, Mike, Hammon, OK and Lori Weems and husband, Patrick, Woodward, OK; 5 grandchildren, Ashley Kanzenbach and husband, Zach, Curtis Kephart, Emily Kephart, Alex Weems and Lewis Weems; 1 great grandchild, Linkyn Kanzenbach; 1 brother, Jim McClellan and wife, JoAnn; 2 sisters, Lucy Cunningham and husband, Brent and Donna Porter and husband, Billy and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 11, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. at the Pentecostal Holiness Church in Hammon, Oklahoma with Rev. Bobby Stewart officiating.
