Cleda Loraine Tucker 1925~2021

Cleda Loraine Tucker was born in her parents home in Hale County, Texas on March 22nd, 1925 to Jennie Parker (Anderson) and Daniel Charles Allen. She passed away Sunday, March 23rd, 2021 at Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 96 years, 2 months and 1 day.
Cleda grew up in Plains, Texas where she attended school. During her junior year in high school she was married to Cecil Ray Tucker at Lovington, New Mexico. She graduated from high school in May of 1943 and she followed Cecil during his military career to Spokane, Washington, Pierre, South Dakota and Boise, Idaho. After Cecil’s discharge in 1947 they briefly moved to Dalhart and Happy, Texas before making their home back in Plains, Texas in 1948. Cleda continued to raise her children and helped on the farm until 1964 when she became a ward clerk at the Yoakum County Hospital in Denver City, Texas. In 1979 Cleda and Cecil left on a fishing trip to Toledo Bend Lake in East Texas and ended up extending their trip until 2005.
When Cecil’s health begin to decline they moved back to Cheyenne, Oklahoma to be closer to family. Cleda spent the majority of her time caring for Cecil and also volunteering at the Washita Battle Site and the Clothes Closet.
She also enjoyed playing games, going on walks and spending time with her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Pamela Jean Tucker Nelson; grandson, Chad Nelson and 1 great grandson, Greyson Moore.
Cleda is survived by her son, Charles Tucker and wife, Donna; daughter, Janith Moore and husband, Pete; son-in-law, Duane Nelson; grandchildren, Devia Cearlock and husband, Brendon, Charri Stratton and husband, John, Austin Moore and wife, Melissa, Sonja Bilderback and husband, Tom, Jennifer Towery, Kris Nelson and wife, Carla and Tara Laird and husband, Aaron; 14 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
A private family service will be held in Karnack, Texas on June 25th, 2021 officiated by Aaron Laird. Arrangements are under the direction of Chris Whinery and the staff of Affordable Cremation Service-West. Condolences can be made online at www.classicfunerals. com
