Damien passed away from this life on June 12, 2022, at the age of 21.
Damien James Gibson was born on November 11, 2000, in San Antonio, Texas. He was the oldest child of Cory and Kimberly Gibson and the big brother of Jesse and McKynlee Gibson and Easton and Elisha Watson. Damien grew up in Cheyenne, Oklahoma until the Gibson family moved to Shattuck, Oklahoma in 2014.
Damien was a 2019 Shattuck High School Graduate. Damien was very active throughout his high school career. He enjoyed playing football, basketball, baseball, and golf. He was an active member of the FFA and FCA clubs. Damien was a part of three State Football Championship teams, two state qualifier baseball teams and he pitched 91 strikeouts in the 2019 baseball season. When Damien was 16 years old, he played in the Little League World Series where they placed 8th in the world. Damien received both a scholarship to play Division II baseball and a cheerleading scholarship from Northwestern Oklahoma State University.
Damien later traded his glove and cleats for boots and spurs to pursue his lifelong dream of becoming a cowboy. He owned the Dirty Creek Ranch where he broke and rescued horses. Damien scored a 78 on his very first Bronc ride. Being a cowboy was natural for him and his athletic ability in the rodeo arena was leading him to his PRCA dreams.
Damien accepted Jesus as his personal Savior and was baptized with his father, Cory on January 15th, 2012. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cheyenne. Damien loved his family and friends. He never met a stranger. Damien had a soul to make others happy, and always had a contagious smile on his face.
