Daniel Lee Carpenter 1943 ~ 2023


Daniel Lee Carpenter was born August 6th, 1943 north of Elk City, Oklahoma to Johnnie Belle (Parks) and Edmund Clifford Carpenter. He passed away Wednesday, February 28th, 2024 at the age of 80 years, 6 months and 22 days.

Daniel grew up north of Elk City on the family ranch. He attended school at Hammon, Oklahoma where he graduated in 1961. After graduation he enlisted into the United States Navy where he was stationed in Jacksonville, FL and New Iberia, LA always joking that he was in the Navy and never stepped foot on a ship. After his discharge in 1964 he entered the Navy Reserves and also worked as an civilian contractor. Daniel also held various other jobs including mechanic at Kelly Dairy, owned and operated his own water well service, and ran a custom combining operation with his brother, John. Daniel also helped at Potter Electric until his health forced his retirement. Daniel was an avid collector of numerous things and enjoyed plotting, scheming, and rat killing.

He is preceded in death by his parents; 1 brother, Clifford; 2 sisters-in-law, Robyn and Suzanne Carpenter; 1 brother-in-law, Mark Sullivan.

Daniel is survived by his 2 sons, Andrew Carpenter and fiance`, Melanie Neal, Elk City, OK and Christopher Carpenter and wife, Bridget; 3 grandchildren, Bailey Carpenter, Jacob Carpenter, Milania Neal; the mother of his children, Mary Fern Carpenter; 4 brothers, Frank and wife, Scharleen, John, Charles, and Russell and wife, Cody Carpenter; 2 sisters, Cynthia Carpenter and Belinda Sullivan; sisterin- law, Anita Carpenter and a host of other relatives and friends.
