Della Mae Andrews was born September 29, 1933 to Alice Amanda and Theodore Thomas Whitson near Heavener, Oklahoma. She passed away March 30, 2020 at Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 86 years, 6 months and 1 day.
On July 17, 1950, Della Mae married Henry Andrews at Cheyenne, Oklahoma. To this union 2 children were born: Joy & Nancy. Della Mae worked for Davis Grocery Store, Beavins Dry Goods and for Eddie Tom Lakey at the Cheyenne Professional Drug before retiring. She enjoyed attending church at the Cheyenne Pentecostal Holiness Church. Della Mae served as secretary and song leader for many years. She was a very good cook and was famous within her family because of her barbeque chicken and mashed potatoes. Della Mae was also popular with any visitors that stopped by and always had something sweet such as her banana nut cake. Her passion in life was spending time with her family, friends and especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Henry; parents; 1 sister, Fern Boyett; Four brothers, Loyd Whitson, Charlie Whitson, Orbie Whitson and Gene Whitson.
Della Mae is survived by her two daughters, Joy Denney and husband, Paul, Jr., Cheyenne, OK and Nancy Lamle and husband, Tom, Beaver, OK; 2 grandchildren, Monty Denney and wife, Tara, Cheyenne, OK and Kade Lamle and wife, Jessica, Mooreland, OK; 2 great grandchildren, Kimberlyn Denney and Kaylor Denney; 2 brothers, Joe Whitson, Cheyenne, OK and Mike Whitson and wife, Sue, Mustang, OK; 2 sisters, Cleo Pierce, Elk City, OK and Roberta Williamson and husband, Don, Fritch, TX many nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
