District 2 Judicial District Announces Awards

District 2 District Attorney, which includes Custer, Washita, Roger Mills, and Ellis Counties, announced Investigator Mike Murley as recipient of a statewide award.
Mike Murley was named the 2023 Outstanding Investigator at the Oklahoma District Attorneys Association/ District Attorneys Council Awards Luncheon.
He retired from the Clinton Police Department after being in law enforcement for 30 years. Shortly after retirement from Clinton, he joined District 2 as an investigator. “It is a privilege to work with Mike and he is an invaluable asset to District 2. He is a leader and professional in every sense of the word. This award recognizes that District 2 has exceptional team members that are of the highest caliber” said District Attorney Angela Marsee.

In Memoriam, Barbara Arres was recognized because of her outstanding dedication and excellence on the job in the legal field. In 1978 she went to work for Arney, Barker, and Coit, attorneys at law in Clinton where she stayed until 1987 when Stephen Coit was appointed District Attorney of Custer County by Governor Henry Bellman. Barbara worked for over 30 years for four different District Attorneys: Stephen Coit, Richard Dugger, Dennis Smith, and Angela Marsee. Paying attention to detail, she trained District Attorneys, countless Assistant District Attorneys, and even private attorneys the work ethic and character needed for the job.
Also being recognized were ADA Gina Webb who was recognized for her 25 years of service, and ADA Ricky McPherson who was recognized for his 30 years of service. District Attorney Angela Marsee was, furthermore, selected to serve on the board of directors for the Oklahoma District Attorneys Association.
