Dominick (Dom) Paul D’Achille, 78, of Guthrie, Oklahoma formerly of Hammon, Oklahoma was born on December 9, 1944 in New Kensington, Pennsylvania. He is the son of Dominick Frank and Lena (Guida) D’Achille. He passed away peacefully on Tuesday November 21, 2023 at Clinton Regional Hospital surrounded by his family.

Dom proudly served in the United States Navy for six years during the Vietnam Era. He was stationed in Pearl Harbor for two years, then ordered to Guam, where he served in hostile waters on the USS San Joaquin County LST1122. He later served on the USS Duluth LPD6. Pearl Harbor is where he met his future wife, Donna Claire Hibler. Dom and Donna made their home in Hammon for over 45 years where they raised their children. Dom graduated with a B.S. in Accounting from Robert Morris College, Pittsburgh, PA in 1971, received his MBA in 1981 from Southwestern Oklahoma State University and began his career at Southwestern Oklahoma Development Authority (SWODA) where he retired after 30 years as Deputy Director/Comptroller. Dom served as the Mayor of Hammon in the seventies. He was a member of the American Legion, the Elks Lodge, VFW and Hammon Jaycees. He enjoyed entertaining, cooking, working outdoors, spending time with his family, playing cards with Terry and Diane and getting into shenanigans with Lee Stephens. Dom was a phenomenal cook and often cooked for the town of Hammon and various functions.

Funeral services were held at 10:00a.m., Monday, November 27th, 2023 at Community Fellowship Church, Hammon, Oklahoma. Dolan Ivey will officiate, Rev. Kurtis Ivey will assist. Interment was held at Red Hill Cemetery, Hammon, Oklahoma with full military honors. Graveside services were officiated by Amanda Lockwood, Hammon Methodist Church.

Cherishing his memory is his wife of fifty-five years, Donna D’Achille of Guthrie, Oklahoma; daughter, Dana and her husband Kevin Kubat of Okeene, Oklahoma and son, Nicky D’Achille and his wife Catina of Edmond, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Ashley Burdick and her husband, Bruce of Colony, Oklahoma, Amanda Espinoza and her husband, Justin of Isabella, Oklahoma, Bella, Dillon and Brady D’Achille of Edmond, Oklahoma; three great grandchildren, Lincoln Meier of Isabella, Oklahoma, Brooks Burdick of Colony, Oklahoma, Stella Espinoza of Isabella, Oklahoma; two sisters, Donnetta Cianflone of Lower Burrell, Pennsylvania, Diane Ross and her husband, Larry of Freeport, Pennsylvania. Dom is preceded in death by his parents, Dominick and Lena D’Achille and brother-inlaw, Angelo Cianflone.
