Every year an estimated 1 in 10 older Americans are victims of elder abuse, neglect, or exploitation. Preventing elder abuse can start right in your local community. A few ways you can begin is by educating yourself and others to recognize the warning signs. You can be a friendly visitor for an older person in your community.
