Elsie Ann Green 1929 ~ 2020


Elsie Ann Green was born on May 15, 1929 in Grimes, Oklahoma to Katie Elena (Weiss) and Harley Harrington. She passed away Friday, December 18th, 2020 in Weatherford, Oklahoma at the age of 91 years, 7 months and 3 days.
Elsie grew up in Berlin where she attended school and graduated in 1947. After graduation she was married to Homer Allen Green in Wheeler, Texas on September 6th, 1947. After their marriage they moved to Chicago, Illinois where Homer attended school. In 1949 they returned to Sayre, Oklahoma for a short time before they moved to Bethany, Oklahoma. They returned to western Oklahoma where they lived in Cheyenne and Crawford until they rebuilt the Weiss house in Berlin, Oklahoma where they moved after it was complete. They remained in the Berlin community and even after Homer’s passing in 2009, Elsie continued to reside there. When her health forced her, her family moved her to Elkwood Assisted Living Center and then in January of 2020 she moved to Corn Heritage Village of Weatherford.
Throughout her life she was a homemaker, candy striper, dairy farmer and bookkeeper. Elsie enjoyed gardening, crocheting, quilting and needle point but her passion was square dancing with Homer and spending time with her family.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; 2 brothers Dale and John Harrington and one sister Ernestine Stogdale.
Elsie is survived by her 2 sons, Warren Green and wife, Marilyn, Amarillo, TX and Harley Green and wife, Ronda, Weatherford, OK; 9 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Elena Roper and husband, Gene, Donna Lucas, Ruth Whitledge and husband, Jerry and a host of other relatives and friends.
