Federal Grant Awards SWODA 1.5 Million Dollars to Develop Regional Long-Range Transportation Plan for 16 Counties

By Julie Sanders, Director of Transportation — The South Western Oklahoma Development Authority (SWODA) located in Burns Flat will receive 1.5 million dollars through one of six RAISE grants awarded in Oklahoma. RAISE stands for Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity (RAISE) program. SWODA will be developing a regional long-range transportation plan for counties that encompass the Southwest Oklahoma Regional Transportation Planning organization (SORTPO) region. The region includes the following 16 counties: Beckham, Caddo, Comanche, Cotton, Custer, Grady, Greer, Harmon, Jackson, Jefferson, Kiowa, McClain, Roger Mills, Stephens, Tillman, and Washita.
