Fires Continue Across the County

Last Tuesday, a fire broke out on SH 283, 1-mile south of Berlin Road. Local fire departments, county employees and National Guard aircraft worked together to contain the fast-burning fire. National Guard Black Hawks dropped 49 buckets (32,340 gallons) on Wednesday and 32 buckets (21,200 gallons) on Tuesday. Oklahoma Forestry Services and county resources continued to complete line construction in key areas of concern through Thursday. The fire burned more than 5,000 acres.
