Area members of the Beckham-Roger Mills County Post Adjudication Review Board (PARB) members attended training last Wednesday in Edmond, Oklahoma. PARBs are dedicated volunteers appointed by the Oklahoma Commission on Children and Youth, in consultation with the Juvenile Court Judge, to review the cases of children in out of home placement to insure the needs of the child are being met. Every case is reviewed at least every 6 months and a report is made to the Court regarding whether adequate progress is being made toward the goal of a permanent home. Those in attendance were: Ann Merritt – Chairperson, Bill and Maggie Roesch, and Judy Icke, formerly a member of the Roger Mills County PARB, now a PARB member of Oklahoma County.
Judge VerSteeg served as a presenter and trainer at the Conference and was recognized by the Oklahoma Commission on Children and Youth as the Judicial Partner of the Year. Long time Child Welfare Supervisor, recently promoted to Regional Supervisor, Denise Gerhold, was also recognized as the DHS Partner of the Year.
