George Stephen Kirk 1938 ~ 2021

George Stephen Kirk was born October 30, 1938 south of Cheyenne to Freeda Mae and Elmo Wade Kirk. He passed away June 30, 2021 at the Seiling Regional Medical Center at the age of 82 years and eight months.
George attended Berlin Public Schools where he excelled in mathematics. George later went to work for his Uncle Lawrence Kirk who worked for OG&E in Oklahoma City. He soon learned that he was not cut out to live in a city. After moving back to the Grimes, Oklahoma community he married Mickie Dawn (Donna) Stice in July of 1960. They had four children – Stephanie Lynn, Charlotte Leigh, Neil Shannon, and Shane Stephen.
With an increasing family, George went to work for Purcell Chevrolet in Cheyenne. After working for Purcell Chevrolet, he decided to start a dairy with the help of his family. At this time, he also had the opportunity to work with his father and brother for a few years at Kirk Brother’s Auto Repair. Most of his adult life, he farmed and ran cattle. George sold the dairy in 1976, then started putting all of his efforts into what he enjoyed doing the most farming and raising cattle.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son Neil Shannon, 4 brothers (Gordon, Kenneth, J.L. [Doc] and Rodney), and 3 sisters (Louise Walker, Diana Conway, and Betty Keahey.) He is survived by his daughter Stephanie Bachmann and husband Greg of Durham, Charlotte Pittman and husband Kirk of Seiling, Shane Kirk and wife Lawanda of Cheyenne; 9 grandchildren: Christy Beck, Keith Bachmann, Brock Pittman, Veronique Pittman, Brett Kirk, Layn Kirk, Amanda Bogle, Ashley Wright, and Tyler Bogle; his great-grandchildren Everly and Kendall Beck, Remington and Kyler Wright, Savannah and Bradley Bogle, his sisters Sharon Tignor and husband Dickie of Sayre, OK, Margie Anderson and husband John of Sweetwater, OK, and sisterin- law Ella Pearl Kirk, and his brothers Wade Kirk and wife Nelda of McLean, TX, and Wallice Kirk of Colbert, OK, and best friend and classmate Jerry Luttrell of Tulsa Oklahoma. As well as a host of relatives and friends.

Graveside services were held Saturday, July 3rd, 2021 at 10:00 am at Berlin Cemetery officiated by Randy Green. Arrangements are under the direction of Chris Whinery and the staff of Affordable Cremation Service-West. Condolences can be made online at www. classicfunerals.com
