Hammon Lady Warriors Crowned Class B State Basketball Champions

The number one Hammon Lady Warriors and the number two, Lomega Lady Raiders faced off in the Class B State Championship Saturday. The Lady Warriors proved why the were ranked the highest in Class B Girls Basketball by defeating the Lady Raiders 59-49.
Hammon Sophomore Henley West was named the MVP at the Class B Girls State Basketball Tournament. Henley proved she was too much for her opponents. The 6-foot-4 forward towered over every matchup thrown at her and she continued to dominate in the paint. Henley averaged a double-double to help lead Hammon to a Class B State Championship. This is the Lady Warriors third Basketball Title in school history and first since 2018.
Others named to the State Tournament Team are Maylee Chaney, Hammon; Akiera Hawk, Pittsburg; Darcy Roberts, Lomega and Abby Swart, Lomega. During the state games, Hammon 8th Grader, Tripp Higgins, won the halftime three-point contest. The win will give Hammon a $1,000 scholarship from Oklahoma Natural Gas. Tripp hit thirteen three-point shots in 45 seconds at the BIG HOUSE!
