Hammon Man Dies in I-40 Wreck

An early morning accident on Interstate 40, west of Hinton in Caddo County took the life of Dane Kauk , age 35 of Hammon, Oklahoma. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported that at 7:49 am Kauk died after his 2017 Toyota Tacoma struck a 2022 Freightliner that had slowed down in the east bound lanes due to a previous accident. Kauk was transported to Weatherford Regional Hospital ER by Medica West where he was pronounced deceased. There were no passengers in either vehicle, and seatbelts were in use by both drivers.
