“Paul, an apostle (not from men nor through man, but through Jesus Christ and God the Father who raised Him from the dead), and all the brethren who are with me., ….” Galatians 1:1-2 Paul, in stating his qualifications to the Galatians, referred to himself as ‘an apostle’. Preachers nowadays nearly always refer to him as ‘The Apostle Paul’. Nothing wrong with that I guess. And, it’s not too far from a legitimate salutation seeing that Paul was easily the most prominent of all the apostles at least in terms of letters written and churches ministered to.
