Janet Arleen Blaylock 1952 ~ 2021

Janet Arlene Blaylock was born March 9th, 1952 in Cheyenne, Oklahoma to Cleo Mae (Whitson) and Truman Arthur Green. She passed away Sunday, May 16th, 2021 at Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 69 years, 2 months and 7 days.
Janet grew up in Cheyenne where she attended school graduating in 1970. After graduation she furthered her education at Southwestern Oklahoma State University where she obtained her associates degree. Janet worked in the abstract office and later the Roger Mills County Courthouse in the County Clerks Office. It was during this time that she was married to Dudley Hewell Blaylock on August 9th, 1980 in Cheyenne, Oklahoma. They made their home in Cheyenne until moving back toward Packsaddle where she obtained employment with Ellis County Clerk’s Office. Janet remained their until her retirement in 2014. Janet was an avid reader and enjoyed needle point and was know for her Christmas candy and especially divinity that she distributed around the holiday season. She also had a dry sense of humor and quick wit that many came to know and love.
She is preceded in death by her father and step-father; husband.
Janet is survived by her 2 daughters, Janel Blaylock and husband, Brian John, Amarillo, TX and Julie Blaylock-Nalley and husband, Ryan, Elk City, OK; 3 grandchildren, Daphne Nalley, Granger Nalley and Isla Nalley all of Elk City, OK; 3 brothers, Tom Green and wife, Gayle, Cheyenne, OK, Dale Pierce, Cheyenne, OK and Wesley Pierce and wife, Phyllis, Berlin, OK; 1 step brother, Wayne Pierce and wife, Mary, Shamrock, TX and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 21st, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. at the Cheyenne First Baptist Church officiated by Pastor Randy Green. Burial will immediately follow at Silent Home Cemetery under the direction of Chris Whinery and the staff of Affordable Cremation Service-West.
