Jimmy Wilson was born April 27, 1963 in El Paso, Texas to Charlene (Giles) and Jerry Jim Wilson Jr. He passed away Wednesday, April 15th, 2020 at his home in Cheyenne, Oklahoma at the age of 56 years, 11 months and 19 days.
Shortly after he was born his family moved to Cheyenne where he grew up and attended Erick Schools graduating in 1981. After graduation he furthered his education at Southwestern Oklahoma State University and also was active in the smaller town rodeo circuit where he participated in bull riding. In 1984 he began his career with Dobson Telephone in the engineering department. He continued with Dobson working his way up and later on splicing fiber optic cable. He moved to Harrah, Oklahoma and in 1998 he started his own business Fiber Crafters International where he traveled to many states working with fiber cables as technology advanced. Jimmy continued to own and operate his business until present. In what little free time he had, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, horseback riding and spending time with his children, family and friends. Jimmy also was an avid University of Oklahoma Football and Basketball fan.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents.
Jimmy is survived by his children, Ashton Paschal – Wilson and wife, Kirsten and Conner Wilson, both of Norman, OK; his parents, Jerry and Charlene Wilson, Cheyenne, OK; 2 brothers, Gary Wilson and wife, Kenna, Kingfisher, OK and Rusty Wilson and wife, Mandy, Elk City, OK and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held at a later date at the Cheyenne First Baptist Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Chris Whinery and the staff at Affordable Cremation Service – West.
