
Juanita Fern Trout, 88, of Elk City, Oklahoma was born on June 1, 1931 in Hammon, Oklahoma. She is the daughter of Robert Clyde Trent and Bertha Jewel (Gilbreath) Trent. She passed away on Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at Great Plains Regional Medical Center in Elk City, Oklahoma with her loving family by her side.
Juanita married Roy Trout Jr., on October 23, 1949 in Hammon, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on January 26, 2011. Juanita enjoyed sewing, reading, cooking, playing card games like Bridge and Rook, and supporting her kids and grandkids in all their activities. She wrote numerous poems on special occasions for family and friends.
But most of all she loved spending time with her family.
Cherishing her memory are her four children, Deborah Higgins and husband, Gary of Elk City, Oklahoma, Rhonda Roper and husband, Galeard of Elk City, Oklahoma, Dane Trout and wife, Holly of Hammon, Oklahoma, Tana Sappington and husband, Blake of Clinton, Oklahoma; ten grandchildren, Heath Higgins and wife, Kayde of Edmond, Oklahoma, Kimbre Danielson and husband, Darren of Leedey, Oklahoma, Stacy Landgraf and husband, Jeff of Madill, Oklahoma, Darin Higgins and wife, Ashley of Leedey, Oklahoma, Derek Roper and wife, Lyndsay of Weatherford, Oklahoma, Lori Stuever and husband, Justin of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Lana Draper and husband, Kyle of Ft. Worth, Texas, Tyson Trout of Hammon, Oklahoma, Taya Sappington of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Tack Sappington of Clinton, Oklahoma; one brother, Bob Trent and wife, Mary of Edmond, Oklahoma.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Roy Trout Jr., her parents, one brother J.C. “Sonny” Trent, four sisters, Pauline Cates, Dorothy Motsenbocker, Alma Lee Hansen, June Page.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 3, 2020 at the First Baptist Church in Hammon, Oklahoma. Reverend Scott Showers officiated. Interment followed at Red Hill Cemetery. Services have been entrusted to the care of Martin- Dugger Funeral Home in Elk City, Oklahoma.
