Lady Bears Win District Championship

The Lady Bears claimed the District Championship with a hard fought 35-24 win over the Lady Bulldogs. C/R led 12-9 after one as five different players scored and extended the lead to 19-10 at the break on a trey at the buzzer from Jaidyn Greer. In the third quarter, neither team could hit shots, and the score was 23-13 heading into the final stanza. The Lady Bears kept Sentinel at bay the entire quarter and won by a final score of 35-24. Jaidyn Greer hit for 10 points while Alie Parkhurst had 8 points to go along with 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Abbie Barton grabbed 7 rebounds and had 2 blocks.

Scoring: Jaidyn Greer-10, Alie Parkhurst-8, Hayley Whiteneck-6, Y’Leigh Yarbrough-6, Abbie Barton-4, Sydney Batchelor-1

Coaches Comments: Hayley Whiteneck did a great job defensively
on their best player as did Sydney Batchelor as she gave Hayley several
breaks throughout the game to catch her breath. It was a grind it out
defensive battle and we were solid in all aspects most of the night, They
did a good job of taking away our inside game even though we had a size
advantage and so we had to work to get what we wanted. We now play
Arapaho @ Arapaho in the first round of the regional tournament and the
winner of that game will be guaranteed a place in the area tournament.
