Lady Bears Win Last Game of the Regular Season

The Lady Bears ended their regular season with their 6th straight win over the the visiting Lady Eagles by a score of 52-27. They first quarter was slow paced and the Lady Bears only led 7-3 after one. The second stanza saw Y’Leigh Yarbrough hit 6 of her 14 points in the quarter and C/R led 18-14 at the break. Alie Parkhurst got going in the 3rd as she scored 10 of her game high 16 points in the period and the lead grew to 35-20 heading into the final quarter. Five different Lady Bears scored during the quarter and won going away by a score of 52-27. Alie and Jaidyn Greer each had 9 rebounds while Chloe McEntire had 3 steals. Abbie Barton sat out with a sore ankle but is expected to return for district playoffs on Saturday.

Coaches Comments: We worked on our zone the first half and were lethargic on offense but got it going in the second half. Y’Leigh shot it well off the bench and picked good spots for her penetration. Sydney Batchelor grabbed 5 offensive rebounds and gave us extra possessions and we did a nice job of getting the ball to Alie on the post the second half.
