Leedey FFA Holds 2021 Banquet

The Leedey FFA Chapter held their 2021 FFA Banquet on May 11. FFA members, along with parents, guests, supporters, school faculty and administration were in attendance for this annual event to recognize members for their achievements of FFA degrees, proficiencies, and star awards. FFA is structured into a degree program with the first three of the five degrees awarded at the local level. The Discovery Degree is the first of five degrees and is awarded to 8th grade FFA members. Those Leedey members awarded the Discovery FFA Degree were Aidyn Boren, Kade Bush, Cale Clem, Connor Clem, Keelyn Dirickson, and Cooper Jones.
The Greenhand Degree is the second degree and is awarded to 9th grade FFA members meeting the minimum requirements. Alex Aul, Nolyn Branson, Avery Cearlock, Michael Chadrick, McKinly Clem, Brogan Devlin, James Fuller, Devin Goff, Caroline Hahn, Mia Macias, Alexander Palmer, Luke Puffinbarger, and Grace Ward were awarded this degree.
The Chapter FFA Degree is awarded to high school members who have met certain minimum requirements above the previous two degrees. Those Leedey FFA members being awarded the Chapter FFA Degree were Kyler Bush, Cade Clem, Christian Clinesmith, Kelsey Dowdle, Montana Farris, Rylie Gore, Jace Green, Tyler Sandoval, Tessa Thomas, and Carter Weber.
Outstanding members at each degree level were presented with Star Awards. The Star Greenhand was presented to Caroline Hahn, the Star Chapter Farmer was presented to Karlee Danielson, and the Chapter Star in Placement was presented to William Palmer.
Members excelling in their Supervised Agricultural Experience Program were recognized through the proficiency awards program. Those members receiving proficiency awards were as follows: Alex Aul-Outdoor Recreation, Aidyn Boren-Agricultural Education , Nolyn Branson-Outdoor Recreation, Avery Cearlock-Public Speaking, Cade Clem-Landscape Management, Cale Clem-Landscape Management, Connor Clem-Poultry Production, Brogan Devlin-Beef Production-Entrepreneurship, Keelyn Dirickson- Goat Production , Kelsey Dowdle-Swine Production – Entrepreneurship , Peyton Goodall-Swine Production– Placement , Rylie Gore-Agricultural Communications, Caroline Hahn-Swine Production – Entrepreneurship , Shaylynn Hahn-Swine Production – Entrepreneurship, Cooper Jones-Turf Grass Management–Entrepreneurship/Placement, Wyatt Jones-Goat Production , Casen Kauk-Wildlife Production and Management, Alexander Palmer-Outdoor Recreation, William Palmer-Diversified Agricultural Production, Jack Puffinbarger-Outdoor Recreation, Luke Puffinbarger-Outdoor Recreation, Kenna Silas-Diversified Livestock Production, Carter Weber-Agricultural Mechanics Repair and Maintenance – Entrepreneurship , and Ben Welty-Beef Production Placement
Each year the Leedey FFA honors individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the FFA Chapter. This year Rusty Puffinbarger and Darren Danielson were awarded the Honorary Chapter FFA Degree.
The Banquet concluded with the installation of officers for the 2021-2022 school year. The officers are as follows: President – Kenna Silas, Vice President – Shaylynn Hahn, Secretary – Rylie Gore, Treasurer – Peyton Goodall, Reporter – Kelsey Dowdle, and Sentinel – Wyatt Jones.
