Topping the list of Leedey’s Class of 2020 Very High Honors graduates are two students who earned a perfect 4.0 GPA during their high school career.
Listed alphabetically, they are Edmund Carpenter and Ty Goss. Laken Clinesmith, David Garcia, Dakota Goff, Keaton Haney, Jacob Macias, and Parker Ward have also qualified for Very High Honors.
Edmund and Ty will each give an address at graduation and are recognized as being ranked number one in the class. Criteria for Very High Honors include maintaining a grade point of 3.8 to 4.0 for grades nine through twelve while completing college-bound coursework.

Edmund Carpenter is the son of Charles and LaCindra Carpenter and the brother of Kahler Simmons, Karli Carpenter, and Kirsten Carpenter.
He is the co-valedictorian of his class. A four-year member of the Oklahoma and National Honor Societies, Edmund has been named to the Superintendent’s Honor Roll for four years. Edmund plans to attend Southwestern Oklahoma State University in the fall and pursue a business degree in accounting. He is a very active student at Leedey High School, and is a member of the basketball and baseball team. He would like to thank God, his family, peers, and the Leedey facility for always helping him strive to be the best he can be.
Kent and Danna Goss are the parents of senior, Ty Goss. He is involved in FFA, basketball, baseball, and JCC. A four-year member of the Oklahoma and National Honor Societies, Ty has been named to the Superintendent’s Honor Roll for four years. He also helped lead the way to the state basketball and baseball tournaments in all four years of his high school career as a Bison. Ty plans on attending Redlands Community College and be a member of the livestock judging team in the fall. Laken Clinesmith is the daughter of Micah and Patricia Clinesmith. She’s a senior at Leedey High School and is involved in cheerleading and Junior Chamber of Commerce. Laken is also the presidents of Family Career and Community Leaders of America, Friends of Rachel Club, and Student Council. After High School, Laken plans on attending Oklahoma City Dental Assisting School in Midwest City, Oklahoma.
David Garcia is another multi-talented graduate. He is the son of David and Nydia Garcia. He has been involved in NHS(National Honor Society), Joe Cole’s Leadership team, and is a member of St. Peter Catholic Church. David has been involved in baseball and basketball his whole life, and will be trying to play college baseball.
Jason and Tammy Goff are the parents of senior, Dakota Goff. He attended High Plains Technology Center focusing on welding.
Dakota received the Rookie of the Year award at HPTC in welding. Dakota plans on pursuing a career in welding.
Keaton Haney is the son of Matt and Leslie Haney. He is the senior class reporter. Keaton is involved in Junior Chamber of Commerce, baseball, and basketball. He was also the Bison basketball team manager and statistician. Keaton plans on going straight into the work force.
Alex and Stormy Macias are the parents of senior, Jacob Macias. He loves to draw and is a very talented artist and an avid weight lifter. Jacob is planning to attend Southwestern Oklahoma State University in the fall and major in pathology.
Parker James Ward is the 18 year old son of Mark and Carrie Ward. He enjoys baseball, basketball, and fishing as well as playing drums for the Harvest Fellowship praise and worship team. He loves to spend time with his family and connecting with friends playing online games. In his academic career at Leedey, Parker has been on the Superintendent’s Honor Roll all three years of high school. He has been an active member of the academic team, placing 3rd in state twice and winning the ONWAC conference twice. He is also a member of the National Honor Society. He will be attending Redlands Community College in the fall where he will continue playing baseball at the collegiate level. Parker is excited for what God has for his future
