Library Presents Genealogy Program

On Thursday, August 5, the County Genealogy Society met at 2:00 in the Cheyenne Library. Minutes and Treasurer’s reports were stated. Pioneer Day is September 11 and we will ask for a spot to show/sell the County Historical Map. Librarian Laura Lopez presented a most interesting slide show on the Bracero Program. This program permitted a Mexican male to enter the USA as a temporary seasonal agricultural worker. There was an application process to become a Bracero….the word which means “male with good arms and hands”.
