Lorrie Lynn Sumpter 1964 ~ 2023

Lorrie Lynn Sumpter was born January 20th, 1964 in Chowchilla, California to Linda Marie (Lucas) and Howard Daulton Billey. She passed away at her home north of Reydon, Oklahoma on Thursday, June 1st, 2023 at the age of 59 years, 4 months and 12 days.
Lorrie, being the daughter of a Navy serviceman, she lived on various bases in California and Alaska. She spent a short time with her mother in Florida before moving to Durant, Oklahoma and later Reydon, Oklahoma where she graduated from high school in 1982. She was married to Tony Sumpter in Reydon, Oklahoma on February 14th, 1982. Together they moved to Tucumcari, New Mexico where they spent 13 years and started their family with the birth of their daughter, Kristi. In 1995, Lorrie and Tony moved their family back to the Reydon Community where they brought their cattle back and began their ranching operation. Lorrie, having a strong work ethic, besides the cattle operation worked part time with Whinery Funeral Service and went back to get her EMS certification. She was an EMT Intermediate for several years and later went to work at Turley Ranch in 1999 where she continued until present. Lorrie began with the Reydon Fire Department in 2001 and continued until she retired in 2021. She enjoyed raising dogs, cattle, Christmas and the music associated with the holiday, and spending time with her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; infant son; brother-in-law, Michael Milligan; great nephew, Jarod Martindale; and one great niece, Josie McIntyre.
Lorrie is survived by her husband, Tony, of the home; daughter, Kristi Sumpter and significant other, John Faison, Reydon, OK; sister and brothers, Lisa Milligan, Sanford, FL, Carl Billey and wife, Terry, Sayre, OK, and Duane Billey, Franklinton, LA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jeanie Sumpter, Jackie Sumpter, and Linda Green and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Reydon American Legion at: Reydon American Legion, c/o Kay Powers, 9548 HWY 30 Reydon, OK 73660.
Services were held Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at the Reydon Gymnasium. Interment followed at White Rose Cemetery under the direction of Affordable Cremation Services West, Elk City, Oklahoma.
