Lots of Fun at Camp Owa Chita!

CHEYENNE OKLAHOMA: Washita Battlefield National Historic Site successfully hosted the seventh annual Owa Chita summer camp this past week (June 28-July 2).25 local campers enjoyed a variety of activities related to the natural resources and history of the park. Some of the activities included candle making, Cheyenne Indian games, nocturnal animal painted rocks and letterboxing. We also had sessions led by Black Kettle National Grassland about animals and archelogy. The campers also got to experience and learn about fire safety presented by the Cheyenne Fire Department.
