Make Your Own Moccasins

CHEYENNE, Oklahoma: Washita Battlefield National Historic Site will lead a makeand- take project in which participants create their own beaded moccasins. This workshop is designed to provide participants the opportunity to learn a traditional skill over a period of several months and remember the clash of cultures that culminated at the Battle of the Washita. Making moccasins will take place in three locations; Washita Battlefield National Historic Site in Cheyenne, OK; the Southern Plains Indian Museum in Anadarko, OK; and tentatively at the Cheyenne & Arapaho Community Hall, Concho, OK.
