Mary Lou Rogers was born October 18th, 1938 in Los Angeles, California to Dora Mae (Millhouse) and Frank Dennis Trammell. She passed away Saturday, February 20th, 2021 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 82 years, 4 months and 2 days.
Mary grew up in the Cheyenne and Square Top communities and attended school at Cheyenne graduating in 1956. After gradation she attended college in Borger, Texas and later moved to Pennsylvania where she also attended college. She met and was married to Colin Lee Beatty and being the wife of a Navy serviceman, they moved to many bases around the United States. They settled in Millington, Tennessee where she worked on the navel base. In the late 70’s she was acquainted with John Lindsey Rogers and were later married. They retired and moved to Cheyenne, Oklahoma. After John’s passing she moved to Elk City with her mom, Dora. Mary filled the role of caretaker for many of her family members. She loved card games, reading, crafts and sewing. Mary enjoyed technology and being able to communicate with her family via the computer and playing games on her computer.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, John; 2 brothers, Dennis Trammell and Jack Parker and one sister, Betty Hamlin. Mary is survived by her 4 children, Sandra Gwin and husband, Richard, South Dakota, Keith Beatty and wife, Karla, Edmond, OK, Denise Schneider and husband, A.J., Chesapeake, VA and Brian Beatty, Elk City, OK; John’s children; 7 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 1 sister, Linda Little, Cheyenne, OK and a host of other relatives and friends.
