Mary Lavina Tidwell was born November 16, 1937, to Murray F. Tidwell, Sr. and Florence Frankie Ely Tidwell. She passed from this life on December 2, 2021 at Edmond, Oklahoma at the age of 84 years, 16 days.
Mary was raised on the family farm in the Dempsey community, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma. She graduated school from Cheyenne Public School.
She married J.A. Farber on June 15, 1957. They lived in several cities and states during the next 50 years as J served as a minister for the Church of Christ. During this time, they gained a son, Jason. Mary taught many Bible classes to young kids. When J and Mary retired, they moved back home to the family farm in the Dempsey community. Mary was the eldest of ten children.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father as well as three siblings, Franklin, David and Tenna.
She is survived by her husband, J and son, Jason and wife Sherrie of Oklahoma City, sisters, Joyce and husband, Gene Meyers of Elk City; Sue and husband, Bryce Berger of Cleveland; Florence and husband, Dale Decker of Edmond; Nancy and husband, Fred Peterson of Blair and brothers, Henry (Buck) Tidwell and wife, Linda of Gruver, Texas; Buster Tidwell and wife, Kathy of Cheyenne; sisterin- laws, Jody Tidwell of Leedey and Connie Tidwell of Guymon and brother-inlaw, Jerry Swartwood of Cheyenne.
Her life of supporting her husband in his ministry service of the Church of Christ serves as a memorial of her life. Her ashes will be privately interred at the Dempsey Cemetery at a later date.
